ป่าในหุบเขาแสงรำไร ดินชุ่มชื้น ต้นไม้ใหญ่น้อยพากันแข่งแย่งแสงแดด โดยรีบเร่งทางความสูงลำต้นก่อน เมื่อสูงถึงระดับขีดจำกัดของแต่ละชนิดแล้ว จึงขยายออกทางความโตลำต้น เป็นแหล่งกักเก็บคาร์บอนได้อย่างดี จากงานวิจัยพบว่าป่าในอุทยานแห่งชาติเขาใหญ่ช่วยดูดซับก๊าซคาร์บอนไดออกไซด์ไว้ได้ราว 44 ล้านตัน คิดเป็นมูลค่าราว 455 ล้านบาท ช่วยคงความสมดุลของสภาพภูมิอากาศมากเป็นอันดับต้นของประเทศไทย

The trees in the valley in moist soil with dim light trees compete for sunlight by rushing through the trunk height. When reaching up to the limit of each type, they extend the trunk. This place is a good source of carbon storage. Research has shown that forests in Khao Yai National Park help absorb about 44 million tons of carbon dioxide, worth about 455 million baht, to maintain the balance of the climate as much as the top of Thailand.
